How time flies! It was just like yesterday when i packed to come to Norway, but now i’m gonna leave tomorrow.
I really enjoyed every thing and every friend in Olso:)What did I learn this semester?Like the last day when we were in Latina class,Tord asked us to say something about it.As I mentioned that day, what I learn was not only google, blog and other stuff like that,i learnt much more than that.I met very nice teacher Tord and very good friends in the class. We worked in groups and discussed in pairs and spent really great time together. This class is very different from those we have in China. The interactive and relaxed atmosphere really impressed us.We got the chance to be the boss as Robert said in China teacher is the boss and here in Norway students are the boss.We worked on our own projects and disscussed them with our advisors and presented them to the whole class. These were all quite different from what we usually did in China. When I looked back at the posts I made in Feb,there were just some pics and videos and now I can do my own project.
This semester is more than just a Latina class. We got to know Norway and other European countries like Italy and Spain. This will definitely be a great memory in our life time. It’s kinda sad to say goodbye to all the nice friends and teacher here. But I hope I can come here again in the future.
Thank you all my fiends and Tord,Aslak,Vibeke. You compeled my memory in Oslo.

My dear classmates
Today we learnt what’s the learning and teaching in a digital world. We expored a lot from the web and evaluated the information about the learning and teaching stuff in our own countries.Later we shared our information with our partners.Me and Clara were in one group. She showed me a lot of interesting learning website in Spain. One website is run by the government and is for the young kids.It is quite funny and shows how the learning on web works.I also showed her some stff about the learning events in China now.
We all know that the development of e-learning requires massive investment. Nowadays in China, the government is the main supporter and quality monitor. Also public and private-sector are the necessary supporters as well in order to develop high quality learning resources. The situation is that in some parts of western China,it’s so poor that there are no teachers, classrooms and teaching facilities. So it really works that students from lower-income western regions of China can learn the stuff from the internet. But there are also other problems that they may have no access to the internet or the computers, or they have to pay for the services.
As a whole, learning and teaching in a digital world is playing a key role in meeting demand for higher education, but there are problems. For example, how can they improve the tachnological standards to meet thousands of students’ nees. And what if the learners have got some problems since they are often isolated. And how can the teachers design and conduct ICTs-based courses.China is still a starter on the learning and teaching in a digital world and we still have a long way to go.
Later on,Tord talked a lot about the topic:Big change. Learning and teaching in a digital world. He took Latina learning center as an example and talked something about the teaching and technology, material conditions and things like that.
China has a vision of lifelong learning in which information and communication technologies -based (ICTs) distance education and electronic learning are key components. China now has three of the world’s mega-universities, institutions in which over 100,000 students use largely distance learning methods.
The development of e-learning requires massive investment. The government is providing basic infrastructure and network connections and monitoring quality. Public and private-sector capital will join with the e-learning institutions to develop high quality learning resources. With the introduction of market mechanisms, more learning opportunities should become available for the poorer populations. Some universities have reduced tuition fees for learners in the lower-income western regions of China.
Learning and teaching in a digital world is playing a key role in meeting demand for higher education, but there are problems:
* Due to the large number of companies competing to develop e-learning systems, there is a need to coordinate technological standards.
* Learners are often isolated and can lack motivation through not being in a learning community.
* Many teachers have poor understanding about e-learning and how to design and conduct ICTs-based courses.
* Infrastructure is often inadequate: some e-learners lack appropriate computers or broadband connections.
Today we were given a excellent presentation about texture by Ann-Hege.It never occurred to me that texture can be related to films, music and even to text. It offerred some new ideas for us and opened our minds. What’s more,we had a good interaction through the touching of the texture and have real feeling of what all those stuff like.It was no doubt quite interesting and we got more involved.Of course the feedback to the presenter was also necessary.
Then we talked about what a teaching event should be like.We eastern group thought the interactive classroom was quite important and different ways like hiking, culture tours can also be included. And the exchange programmes and international seminars can also be considered to add new blood to traditional teaching and learning methods. The western group noticed the role of teachers. They think the teachers should develop a critical points over the students and guide the students to think and the students should also learn how to do their own assignments. That’s kinda interesting cuz of the cultural difference,we have different learning environment and have different views of learning stuff.
Later on we were given a lecture by Vibeke about the fragment. It’s about the web-based course,E-learning and learning environment on the web.We also had a heated discussion about what the course should be designed. In my opinion,web-based course is a good way to support face-to-face instruction, and can also encourages active learning through the use of just-in-time learning resources discussions. The documents and resources can be shared by all the participants and feedback and be received by forums.
Today was the first day we had class again, and it was nice to see every friend in LATINA class again after the long vacation. We met two new friends and had a plesant conversation before we began our class. We tallked a lot about the presentation today. We searched what some presentaiton techniques and tools and soem good advice for presention on the internet. And then we worked in pairs talking about our projucts with our parterners.Clara’s project on her blog looked very clear and logic. She also taught me how to do a list in pages,a very nice girl:)Then we focused on our presentation skills.Tord was quite a clever teacher and he make us stand in front of the audience and present as we usually did.Of course there came lots of problems. From everyone’s performance,we saw a lot of inappropriate presentation problems and learnt a vivid lesson.
First, you should speak clearly and loudly when you are in front of the audience.Content is the most important part of a presatation. So make sure that even people in the back can hear what u said.Do not speak too fast or too slowly and try your best to explain the sfuff as clearly as possible.
Second was about the the contact with the audience, including the eye contact and body language. It’s necessary to have the eye contact with your audience if you wanna get your audience involved. You should also act as nature as possible when you are in front instead of paying too much attention to your body language and etc. It’s better that you can look at the audience in the back to get as more people involved as possilbe, but you should also make sure that all the audience in the room wouldn’t feel lost.So u should also look from the left to the right to avoid someone being ignored.
Finally,if you have some written stuff on the screen, make sure that contact with the audience is still important. You can have notes and look at the screen for a while and then memorize the stuff to explain it to the audience by yourself. It would be much more clearly and get your audience involved even better.Of course how to balance the conflict between the speaking and referring to you notes needs lots fo practice. So reherse is quite important and is the only biggist thing you can do to before the real presentation.
A simple technique is that people tend to only remember three things. Work out what the three messages that you want your audience to take away and structure your presentation around them. Use a maximum of three points on a slide.
4. Rehearse
Practice makes for perfect performance. Many experts say that rehearsal is the biggest single thing that you can do to improve your performance. Perform your presentation out loud at least four times. One of these should be in front of a real scary audience. Family, friends or colleagues. Even the dog is better than nothing.
5. Tell stories
6. Lose the bullet points – don’t put your speaker notes up on the screen
web presentation techniques and tools
PowerPoint itself allows the saving of any presentation as a set of Web pages.
Web presentation tools and technologies provide the means to deliver any PowerPoint-based or similar type of visual presentation to an Internet-connected audience, no matter where participants are connecting from.
Most web presentation technologies, do away with requiring end users to have an installed copy of Microsoft PowerPoint and increasingly offer not just the ability to digitally distribute such presentations but also of creating them.
The key features that characterize web presentation technologies and delivery tools include: Automatic conversion to Flash Thumbnails Preview:This is a very useful feature which alleviates the presenter pressure and makes it also easier to display slides in a non linear order. Live annotation:Live annotation is the ability to mark-up, annotate and write upon the slides being presented. Interactive annotation:Interactive annotation adds an extra level of interactivity to standard annotation allowing “attendees” to your presentation to add to the live annotation process themselves. On-demand delivery Audio:Some web presentation tools allow the live delivery of your audio together with the slides being presented. Multiple presentations pre-upload Interactive slide and gathering of viewer feedback PowerPoint transitions preservation
It is proved that Internet is one of the key tools to the success of Obama’s presential election. When i was on the way of this stuff,i found another field that i’m interested in.How’s the Internet campaign going on after the election? And i searched for some interesting details about his Internet Stragety.
Blog:WhiteHouse.gov
As the transfer to the new regime,WhiteHouse.gov Web site , the history of the White House’s first blog was born. You can subscribe to the latest news to the president through email, which makes Obama become the first U.S. president to RSS feed!
Twitter
Relevant statistics showed that top 40 U.S. web-site appeared to slow down the speed by 60% from the beginning of the inauguration ceremony .And lots of news sites had greater decrease in performance. However, Twitter got 5 times the normal speed of updates. Whether the audience or viewers or internet users can express their views in almost real-time.Obama together with a university women’s basketball team playing basketball was once at the news of a prominent position.
Facebook
Facebook is also an important part of the internet campaigh. Some supporters also set up a Group to campaign for Obama. Obama also responsed through the Facebook ,and had the most direct exchange with the supporters. Those showed the image of Obama and his views on policy-oriented, and highlightened the easygoing President image.
Youtube
In YouTube, just in one week, Obama’s campaign team on uploaded 70 videos related to Obama, including Obama on Race speech ,which was clicked on more than five million times. This novel mode of publicity attracted many fans’ pursuit and interaction. “Obama Girl” is one of the representatives, which described a beauty expressed their love for Obama. There were also other videos related to this obama girl one.

Flickr
When it was Obama 100th day in power, in the photo-sharing site Flickr, “new media team” post hundreds of photographs on the Obama event at the White House.
1.In new media , a single audience can be released through the network of personal agenda , thus the interactive will definitely affect mass media agenda.Compared with traditional media, the newspapers often put the main events on the front page.
On Obama’s website, a lot of contents are directly from voters creation, disseminating a variety of interactive set which features a hidden agenda and eliminate so called “planning news” suspects. In addition to the Internet, iphone, mobile phone, electronic games and other new media also play important roles in Obama’s compaign. All of those contribute to Obama’s “civilian president” image.
2. What’s more , Obama took full use of internet and other modern tools to set the agenda and thus he attracted “does not care about the politics” groups such as young voters to vote.
For example, the voters can get assembly wearing T-shirts, Obama’s name with Memory glass and so on. The official web site also links to the Obama blog, video and picture .
Also MyBarackObama can now be mass e-mailed at a cost of close to zero.
These all referred to the “long tail” theory.Obama took full advantage of the millions of ordinary potential users rather than the main targets(midle class). In Obama’s campaign, the public of “long tail” have common points, which is that they are relatively young and easily accept new things .
Can Obama be called an Internet President ? Obama started their own official website(http://www.barackobama.com/index.php), integrating online advocacy tools to promote the concept of the election: Change We Need.
The main plates of his official website are: Obama blog , Obama news, Barack Obama Events , Obama map , Obama store ), Obama TV , Obama Everywhere, etc.Including Facebook, MySpace, Youtube, Flickr, Digg, Twitter, LinkedIn.
Obama used the official website and the spread of Internet to enable users to accept information on their own initiative, for example, lively audio-video clips. A.How’s agenda setted by Obama’s Personal website
Elaborate some new media tools which help Obama set the agenda, such as facebook and youtube.
For example, people just register on the site, and “My Obama” will immediate remind people of Obama’s dynamic, significant activities. If Obama speaks at Congress, supporters will be infromed the encouragement to vote for him in real-time notification. B.Compare the agenda setted by NYTimes online edition (which is for Obama) and New York Post online edition(which are against Obama)(focus on the images)
For example,in NYT online edition,Obama is a hardworking candidate,a romantic husband and an easy-going guy .
While in NYP online edition ,Obama was insulted as monkey.
